Artist Statement

I strive to achieve in my prints the technical excellent exemplified by such greats as Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and more recently Micheal Kenna. My images are unabashedly idealized visions of the environment largely devoid of the impact of humankind. The images reflect my enjoyment of being outdoors and exploring with a camera.

Bio

I am a full time photographer specializing in traditional silver gelatin black and white prints. I have been doing photography for about 15 years, with the last 6 years being full time. Early in my career as a photographer I was fortunate to work with a talented mentor who shared his 30+ years of experience and knowledge with me and got me off to a good start. I have built on this mentoring by voraciously reading about photography, looking at many prints of other photographers, and many hours photographing and in the darkroom. I believe the quality of my prints speak for themselves.
